you can use butter, margarine, non stick cooking sprays such as PAM, which comes in regular, butter, olive oil and canola oil flavors... you can also use peanut oil, olive oil, vegetable oil, corn oil, canola oil and a product called swirl that is used mostly in places such as waffle house , omlet shoppe, huddle house and other fast food service... Also can use lard... ughh oh the cholesterol... lol

I use olive oil or somthing .it always works for me.i dont like shortening.

oleo/maragerine. It's made with vegetable oil
which you can also use.
