My son ate the peanutbutter with the code 2111 and got very sick. My husband had to take 3 days off work. My son's temapture was at 105 degrees. I called my mom and asked her what to do because I thought he was going to die. I've called Conagra foods and they won't do anything to help pay for the doctor bills. How can I report them for not responding to my case?

Sorry about that-I did take my son to the doctor. He's ok now. I have doctor bills now. I threw away the peanut butter but I'm keeping the lid.

Quickly, write to the company, tell them what the Dr.'s diagnosis is, and take copies of your bills. Accept them paying for the bills, and for your anxiety. Anxiety is worth a lot. Will your son still even eat peanut butter? Mention that he won't, if he won't. If you still have the lid, send a picture of it to the company. Do not stand for being ignored, or not reimbursed. If the Peter Pan Company does not help you, call your congressman. The congressman's office people will help you to get the results you really deserve. Do not waste time. The faster you do it, the faster they will try to quiet you and pay you off, WELL. Don't accept JUST enough to pay the bills they caused. Tell the Peter Pan Company how you've been a loyal customer all these years, and was horrified to have the Dr. give his diagnosis. (When you write nicely, they pay more attention.). I'm glad your son is better, now. The lost time at work, PLUS anxiety, the suffering of the high temp, plus anxiety, all of it must be reported to the Health Dept, and to your congressman if they have not met your expectations of taking care of their mess!

My son (5 years old) got sick too. But I have had that peanut butter since like October of 2006. My son was complaining of stomach aches everday and would throw up. We kept going to the doctor and taking stool tests. The Dr. put my son on a strict diet. So after a few days, he would feel better and I would give him the peanut butter and he would get sick again. At first I thought virus. But tests showed negative. They kept testing for parasites. But they never figured it out. Then one day I guess my husband put the peanut butter in the back of the cabinet and I never used it again. I bought new PB. Then when the recall came out I looked for it, and found the jar, 3/4 empty with the 2111 number. I know that's how he was getting sick. I feel awful now. I can't believe I was dumb enough not to think about something like that. But now I know that if he has a tummy ache to check the foods.

take care of your kid first and foremost then consult an attorney. sometimes if your claim is less than 10k all it takes is a letter (from the attorney) and some time. Keep all bills, records, reports, and the peter pan jar. Most likely, you'll take part in a class action (or group) claim. Look into this as well so you can participate. Keep in contact with conagra as they will most likely be required to inform all class members of any settlement.

Get an attorney. Your son should be taken to the hosptial. The problem caused the peanut butter won't get better without medical attention. He should be seen by a physician immediately. No one should ever run a temp of 105 degrees without being seen by a Dr.

My understanding is that there is an organized group of people who were affected the same way by the tainted peanut butter who are filing a class action suit. I Googled "peter pan peanut butter" and got the following site. It may be a place to start.

Speak to a personal injury attorney, they will let you know if you have a case. Keep the Peanut butter as evidence, it will make it easier to prove your claim. You may try to contact the FDA, they are the agency that deals with food borne illness.
I hope your son and husband have recovered.

first off, you should have rushed the kid to the hospital. second you need to take the peanut butter to the local board of health so they can verify the you have poisoned peanut butter. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO KEEP THE JAR. DO NOT GIVE THE JAR TO THE DISTRIBUTOR OR MANUFACTURER. find an attorney. they will get your bills paid and some cash for his pain and suffering

You need to find other people that have had the same problems and all of you should get together and sue the company. You will have a better chance of receiving help if the are a few people with the same problems instead of just one.

Holy crap! Get a lawyer pronto. They wont deal with you, but they'll probably deal with an attorney. Keep the peanut butter as evidence.
