To find how many calories a food item has, take a metal skewer- type stick, and stab the food on it. Then, take a glass jar and fill it with water. Using a thermomoeter, record the starting temperature for the water. Then, set the food item on fire, holding the glass jar above it so the tip of the flame is touching the bottom of the glass. Keep it like this until the flame goes out. Then, take the temperature of the water. Subtract the starting temperature FROM this number, and it (the difference of the temperature) will be the number of calories.
