Quite interesting question.

It is true that we install the electric system and just forget it. Fuse plays a very very vital role in the electric circuit. Unfortunately in many occasions if the fuse blows repeatedly we just replace it with a higher rated one thus sacrificing the very need of it.

There are rewireable fuses and HRC fuses. It is always advisable to check the fuses periodically, at least half yearly to see any wear and tear.

There is very little need to check a fuse in a circuit as long as the circuit still works. The fuse is a safety device that will open the circuit in case of an overload or short circuit.
One exception where periodic examination would be required is when the fuse is subjected to corrosive conditions. It may be necessary to periodically remove power and clean the contacts on the fuse or fuse holder or to replace one or both.

First of all check why the fuse blown? There can be a short circuit . If the circuit is not short then it has blown with over load. Or the fuse which has blown was lower capacity than the load connected. If you are satisfy with these arguments then carry on and replace the fuse.

As u r Electrically concerned about the fuse, its totally depend upon the current carrying capacity of Fuse.

If you know that u r loading is going to increase abd fuse can not cater that much load then u should go for fuse replacement
that u can check by multimeter.

a fuse is only replaced when it has broken... youll notice when the power goes off.

if you want to periodically inspect your fuse. Just look at the wire in the glass tube, if its split in 2 the fuse has broken and no longerworks.
