A person can be infected with the virus for weeks or months before any symptoms appear. Symptoms usually appear 4-7 weeks after infection, and may resemble strep throat or other bacterial or viral respiratory infections. These first signs of the disease are commonly confused with cold and flu symptoms. The typical symptoms and signs of mononucleosis are:

Fever - this varies from mild to severe, but is seen in nearly all cases.
Enlarged and tender lymph nodes - particularly the posterior cervical lymph nodes, on both sides of the neck.
Sore throat - seen in nearly all patients with EBV-mononucleosis
White patches on the tonsils/back of the neck are often seen (indicating infection).
Fatigue (sometimes extreme fatigue)
Some patients also display:

Enlarged spleen (splenomegaly, which may lead to rupture) or liver (hepatomegaly)
Abdominal pain
Aching muscles
Headache
Loss of appetite
Jaundice
Depression
Weakness
Skin rash
Dizziness or disorientation
Supra-orbital edema (the eyes become puffy and swollen) may occur in the early stages of infection

Mononucleosis (also called “mono”) is an illness, caused by infection with the Epstein-Barr virus, that most often affects young adults. Symptoms of mononucleosis include high fever, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes (glands), and fatigue.

Symptoms tend to be mild in young children and worse in teens and adults. The illness also causes the spleen (an organ in the abdomen) to swell, so a person who has mono needs to avoid activities that could injure the abdomen.

Mono is usually a mild illness that goes away without treatment after several weeks. During this time, symptoms may come and go and may change with time. It is normal for the lymph nodes to remain enlarged for up to a month. Fatigue that makes normal activities difficult or impossible may linger for 2 to 3 months. There is no specific treatment except rest, plenty of fluids, and nonprescription pain relievers, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil), for body aches. Aspirin should not be given to anyone younger than age 20 because its use has been linked to Reye's syndrome, a serious illness.

I am a teacher, and the behaviors you describe certainly seem to be ADD, at least, and possibly ADHD. Actually it sounds more like ADHD (you have some of the hyperactive symptoms as well). They have something called the Connor's scale, that the school has. The teachers can fill it out, and your parents, and then the school will score it and you can take it to your doctor and discuss with them solutions for this. Do you feel like you are driven be a motor, and cannot stop it? If so, then it is ADHD. You should definitely see about getting help, as it is treatable through medication and alternative means. Good luck.

it's pretty much like a really bad cold/flu thing... high fever, sore throat, white patches on the back of your throat and swollen glands (they feel like hard bumps under your jaw on your neck). you would also feel tired and have little appetite.
