The piercing itself it somewhat tolerable and done and over with very quickly so you should be fine. Everyone is different, so its hard to say exactly how it will feel. To me, lip piercings are like a hard bite to the lip.

The part that does suck is that your lip is going to swell up for the next 3-10 days and the area will be generally sore. Just be sure you don't play with the piercings a lot, try your best not to bite on the jewelry or your lip and keep up with aftercare.

lol, I have had snakebites. the first time I got it done I was quite shocked at how much it hurt. every piercing you get is going to hurt, don't let anyone tell you that they're painless because it's a load of BS. When you get your lip pierced it's like a hard pinch and THEN it gets numb. lol, no they definitely do NOT numb you before you get a piercing. as far as scars, it's going to leave a little hole (looks more like an indent) if you decide to let it heal. but it also depends on the size you get when you pierce it. if you get it pierced with a 14 gauge it will leave a pretty good scar, a 16 isn't that bad of a scar, and an 18 it very very tiny. if you get an 18, you can always gauge it to a 16 if you desire the size to be bigger. NEVER gauge two sizes up or more from the original size, it will rip and hurt really bad (also leave an even worse scar) rather than you just gauging 1 size at a time. also, never pierce your lip yourself. it is sooo much easier to go get it professionally done. also, while it is in the healing process, it will hurt soo bad if you don't use studs. studs will make it heal straight and quicker and you will have better results. The first time I got mine done they used rings for the healing process, and I could hardly eat anything and they were always infected and would never heal and they ended up closing up when I tried changing it one time. then the second time I got them done (different shop) they said your not supposed to use rings and told me what I said about the healing and stuff. but, the pain. it is ALL worth it! :) hope this helps :)

Pain varies. If you have a high pain tolerance then you should be fine, if you feel it more ... prepare for some temporary pain. Don't worry, they go fast no matter what piercing you get. Just be sure to clean them well and don't play with them too much. Hope you like them if you get them!

i've been looking forward to getting them but, you know, parents can be very stubborn. i would think that after they pierce the first one, you'd wouldn't exactly be too excited to get the second one. i'd say they wouldn't hurt too much just a piercing pain maybe then im sure they would be sore for a while

i have a very low pain tolerance (i was one of those kids that cried like a baby when they tripped) and i can say with all honesty that it doesn't hurt much at all. i was 11 when i got mine done, and i just prepared for the worst pain i could ever, ever imagine, and when my piercer put the needle through, all i could say was 'that's IT?'. the swelling was a pain for me because my nervous tic is chewing on my bottom lip, so i was always aggravating it by doing that, but the piercing itself is a piece of cake.

The piercing itself isn't painful, but afterwards it get quite sore. Expect some slight swelling.
