My friend is getting a perio scaling and root planing and the price is per quadrant , what does quadrant mean ??

that means per 1/4 of the mouth.
you have right uppers, left uppers, right lowers and left lowers.

Each tooth has a tooth number and you have 32 teeth in the mouth. Each quadrant contains 8 teeth:
1-8 is your upper right quad,
9-16 is the upper left,
17-24 is the lower left and
25-32 is lower right.
Teeth #'s 1, 16, 17, 32 are your wisdom teeth and not all people have them or have had them extracted in the past.

The mouth is divided into four areas, upper right (8 teeth), upper left (8 teeth), lower left (8 teeth), lower right (8 teeth). Each area is a quadrant.

in dentistry ur mouth is divided in quaters, maxilary (top) right quadrant, maxilary left quadrant, madibular (bottom) right, and madibular left.
