How do you define "diversity" and "tolerance"?

diversity is the natural or unnatural differences between any living beings.

some diversity can be helped (philosophy, sexual orientation, religion); some diversity can't be helped (race, culture)

tolerance is NOT the acceptance of this diversity, it is the acceptance that diversity occurs. to accept diversity is to imply a favorable attitude toward it. however, to accept that diversity occurs is to say that you may or may not approve of differences.

Diversity is of many different things, sometimes that's not always good mind you,

I mean, I'm not going to be celebrating pedophiles because they are different from the norm.
And sometimes diversity in society causes much bad tension and strain because of separation and resentment.

I like diversity in the animal kingdom, but humanity has pretty much fu**ed that one up.


Tolerance is another thing, I mean, you can tolerate a lot of things, enough not to be an extreme Archie Bunker,
But sometimes, over tolerance is not good at all.

I think the confusion arises when people try to paint such terms in broad brush strokes of either all good or all bad. The truth is that sometimes perfect love and truth calls for tolerance, other times intolerance....same for diversity...
