2.4L I4: 150 HP, 22 city 28 highway
2.7L V6: 200 HP, 21 city 27 highway
In real life, the V6 will get almost the exact same mileage as the I4. If you get a V6, I would listen to the cam chain and make sure the oil looks good and clean before buying it. The V6 has oil pressure activated cam chain tensioners, and they have failed because of people letting their oil get too dirty. It isn't that common, but it is a good thing to check. The I4 is known for dependability.
There is also a 3.0L mitsubishi engine in the 2 door Stratuses (Strati?), but I would avoid the 2-door models.
There is no 2.5 Liter.

take a peek on the plugs. do any have water appropriate corrosion on them? rust? white crusty deposits? if sure then that cylinder is getting water from the cooling passages. Do you keep having to re-fill your coolant? if sure then your engine is definitely ingesting water. Did you top off the cooling equipment with uncomplicated water, by means of fact in case you probably did, and it iced up it may desire to have and in all hazard has cracked the two the fringe of the block (on the interior) or the pinnacle and thats how coolant is getting into. it may desire to be ultimate to substitute the pinnacle gasket and sell the vehicle if the pinnacle gasket is the difficulty. at times one overheating can cook dinner a head gasket. Is there water contained in the oil?yet another indication that that's ingesting coolant.
