When people say to alternate days of cardio and strength, are they talking about:

Monday: Strength
Tuesday: Cardio
Wednesday: Strength
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Strength

Or are they talking about on Monday do Cardio, Wednesday do strength, and Friday do cardio. Then the next week switch everything around?

The way you have it as M,W,F strength is correct. The day in between gives your muscles time to recuperate and grow. It's the best idea to give your muscles at least one day in between because they don't grow while you're working them, they grow afterwards. I know you didn't ask that last part but I thought I'd throw it in there anyways.
