I just did this!
1. Get a little device called a "Paper Tiger" and score the wall paper.
2. Use a product called "FAST Wallpaper Remover". Saturate the area and use hot water during the mix.
3. Wait about 3 minutes, keep it wet, and just scrape it away.
I did 4 Layers in a 12 x 12 room in about an hour!
That stuff isn't expensive either.

There is a product called DIF you can buy it at Sherwin Williams. All you'll need is a round wallpaper cutter, (Sherwin Williams also has this) and a spray bottle. Use your cutter in a round motion to penatrate the wallpaper,(not to deep that you cut into the sheetrock), Spray the wallpaper with the chemical and let it soak for about 3 to 5 minutes (maybe longer if needed) Soak only 2 or 4 sections at a time. You should then be able to remove the wallpaper with ease with a scraper/puttyknife. Note!!! THERE IS A PRODUCT CALLED SIZING, IT IS AN ACRIYLIC COATING THAT GOES ON THE WALL BEFORE WALLPAPERING. TRY TO FIND OUT IF THE WALLS WERE SIZED. IF NOT YOU WILL PEEL NOT ONLY THE WALLPAPER BUT ALSO THE SHEETROCK PAPER AT THE SAME TIME, IT'S DEFINATELY NOT A FUN JOB, SO BE CAREFULL!!!! THE EXCESS GLUE THAT'S LEFT ON THE WALL JUST USE THE PRODUCT WITH HOT WATER AND A SPONGE IT WILL COME OFF. Sincerely, Been there, done that, and still doing it! Contractor for 19 years, Hope the information was helpful. Good Luck!

Downy and hot water in a spray bottle. Just make sure you get a scent you like. The whole house is going to smell. I took 11 layers of wallpaper off my dining room walls with this stuff. Most of the paper was put on in the 1920s or so. If the wallpaper is vinyl, just work up one edge and tear off a piece, then spritz and the stuff just works it's way under the rest. Good luck!

nicely, i'm redesigning a house maximum appropriate now and not one of the under solutions rather worked for me................ I had a great variety of wallpaper caught to the paper on the drywall............. Steamer......... welll it worked a sprint. Steamer with the wallpaper remover stuff, i attempted all manufacturers with and the curler piercer factor. in hassle-free terms worked ok..... I spent tones on time and money on the partitions.... rather the main suitable factor that worked the main suitable that i stumbled on, ( yet nevertheless did no longer artwork great) became watered down fabric softener. a pair of million/2 water a million/2 fabric softener. Sprayed on after rolling the piercer factor on the paper. Then waiting slightly then scraping........ and perchance steaming the obdurate spots. i might make investments interior the softner in the previous the ironmongery keep wallpaper remover. nevertheless, if I have been to do it back, i might rip down the drywall and initiate over......... sure this is dramatic and all, yet I had to re-dirt basically approximately all the partitions, and re-sand and if I calculated all that element I spent doing that it could have been a lot greater cost-effective to re-drywall.......... perchance my wallpaper have been up too long, I estimate 35-40 years...... sorry..................

Remember when you use the paper tiger to just score the top layer of vinyl paper. The reason for this is to let the moisture penetrate through the vinyl so it can saturate the backing. If you apply too much pressure when it comes time for paint you'll have all these little holes in your sheetrock resulting in the need for a light skim coat. If you can pull the vinyl layer of paper off dry and it leaves the backing use a spray bottle with hot water and saturate the backing, wait a couple minutes and scrape away with a wide putty knife. Again take your time and you won't be spending time skim coating walls and waiting for it to dry. good luck

First try pulling it off the wall. When its pulled off wash the wall thoroughly with hot water to remove any glue residue. Its every important to make sure the wall is glue free if you plan on painting.
If doesn't work and half of the wallpaper stays on the wall hire a steam wallpaper remover.

A wallpaper steamer makes it quick. Cost about $40 at HD or Lowes. You will also need a paper tiger, to break the surface.

Take a bath towel, get it wet with hot water and wring it out---hold it up on the wall for a bit, the trick is to get the paper saturated and when you begin to peel go slowly and make sure you also take the backing with the paper. When you have it off wash the wall down with a good cleaner and you are good to go.
