Why eco-friendly lightbulbs?

I'm sorry but I've used eco-friendly light bulbs and the light they put out is horrible. It's like a flourescent bulb. I like the light bulbs I have in my house now. I think it should remain my choice which light bulb I want to use. What about you?

If I'm made to use eco-friendly lightbulbs I won't, I'll use lots of candles.

So if someone chooses what kind of lightbulb they want to use they are considered selfish?

Attn "citizens of the Earth! Beware of those "eco friendly" light bulbs. If you read the label carefully you will discover that they contain mercury. You can not just throw them in the trash. They are technically a chemical hazard.

I think you're being too selfish here. Generalizing all eco-bulbs as "horrible" is ridiculous, but the major thing you need to get is that if each person claimed "choice" and just went with the harmful solution, the problems would add up. Just because you don't see the electrical waste and CO2 creation coming from your use of standard bulbs doesn't mean that they don't exist. You have to recognize a global issue and do your part to help. Fluorescent-like light is not horrible. It's bright. Read outside if you don't like it.

If this pollution keeps on going on, the world will end in about 3-4 centuries. That is a very short time. We need to be as much as eco-friendly as possible. Besides, it's cool.

I think you sound very selfish, However these bulbs have been improved alot, The ones I use function like regular bulbs and don't use near as much energy as regular bulbs, I am all for saving Money and Energy, Both go hand in hand.
