Hi, got a little problem with sky after I bought a new tv. My sky digibox is about 9 months old and is an amstrad. I recently bought a new flat screen tv. The sky box is linked to the tv through scart 1, dvd through scart 2 and the xbox 360 goes to HD sockets (blue red and green). If I am watching sky I have no problems. However if I am playing the 360 ky will come on of its own accord as though I had pressed power on the sky remote. It doesn't just happen with the 360 either. If I am watcing the tv on the tv's tuner, say bbc 1, sky will come on on its own. This has nothing to do with what I have programmed into the sky planner. Funny thing is that it seems to bring sky on when sky is showing adverts. It's as if the sky box is sending an impulse to the tv. This maybe co-incidence with the skybox but it didn't happen on my old tv. It aslo happens if I am watching a dvd. I have swapped the scart leads over so sky is on scart 2 but makes no difference. Anyone got any ideas?

sky will go to the channel automattically for me if press the turn on button ,sounds weird but try removing batteries so the control wont work and see if it happens if it doesnt i'd blame the remote .
you dont mention if this has always happened or since the xbox ,i would start with nothing in the tv except sky and then add the dvd see what happens and then remove and put in xbox you are wanting to see if one them is conflicting with it .

look at the sky lights on the box if the remote light is flashing could it be a neighbour or some other remote you use doing it .
if you cant find prob then ring sky.

Some scart cables support the transport of 'interupt' signals. My guess is that the sky box is, for whatever reason, sending an interupt signal to the TV. The TV responds to the interupt signal by changing the input source to your sky box. You may need to switch off your sky box (power off) when you want to use the xbox or dvd player.

your not alone!..i have come across this a number of times, but it aways seems to be amstrade that it happens on, try a different sky reciever, and you'll find it will stop this.
i dont make the recievers, but our tech guys say its the cheap software in them!
