If you feel in your heart and conscience that you should not watch these movies than don't watch them. I have some things that I don't watch because I just don't have a good feeling when I do watch these things. I used to love watching "Ghost Whisperer", but since I have started into a Bible study, it just turns me off now. That is how the Holy Spirit works. God loves you. I don't miss this show anymore either.

God wants you happy. As long as your movies do not encourage you to treat other people badly they are fine.

It is not what goes into a person that corrupts them, it is what comes out of a person.

Still, I would not want to drink sulphuric acid so if you think the movies are going to damage you watching them would be pretty silly.
PS:
It really isn't a stupid question. There are a lot of people who really are becoming New Christians and they have a lot of questions. You can tell from the answers that a lot of people give pretty poor answers or explanations. This is not the first time I have heard this question and I am sure it won't be the last.

Don't let people ridicule you into feeling stupid.

Consider this: Suppose your husband owned something that offended you. Perhaps photos of his ex girlfriend that he carried around in his wallet or displayed on a wall. Although he assures you that his affections no longer lie with her but with you, would you still want him to get rid of the photos? Those movies are offensive to someone you now claim to love.

Consider this also:If you realized that food you had been ingesting regularly was actually poison that was making you sicker and sicker as time went on you would naturally stop eating it. But do you think it would be right to then give or sell this poisoned food to someone else? Even if they really wanted it and did not think it was dangerous?
Those movies are spiritual and mental poison.

This is a question that you and you alone must answer. I personally don't watch movies that have excessive gore and killing- I mean, I just don't want to spend two hours of my time watching someone cut up people with a chainsaw or whatever, that is a personal decision that I have made. There is no rule about it in the Bible, but it does say to think on good things, things that are good, right, just, things that edify. Ask God, He will tell you.

Yes, I think thats a great idea! No, God would not hate you if you kept some, but I think as a Christian, you probably shouldn't tempt yourself or let things that aren't godly into your home. That's just my opinion. Maybe you could talk it over with your boyfriend. God loves you no matter what, and you're not goint to hell for keeping the movies. Its just a matter of guarding yourself.

Don't sweat it.

If you feel convicted having them then yes get rid of them---but it is not a "sin" to watch a scary movie- remember not to be legalistic about it- I personally do not like a lot of scary movies because spiritually I feel yucky when I watch them....so that is why I know I should not watch them, however my husband can watch them and sleep fine at night, and not be disturbed at all.
But I know if you feel convicted then do get rid of them...that is the Holy Spirit when you feel that conviction.

I don't think God cares weather or not you watch or have scary movies. The only thing God cares about is your Spiritual Growth and that you share his love with everyone.

If I were you, I would not Sell the movies. If you believe that watching the movies is harmful to you, why would you want to offer that harm to someone else? Instead of selling them, destroy them. As far as the ones from your boyfriend, how about just giving them back to him with a truthful explanation of why.
