ok, so here's the thing. my grandma has had a siamese cat for a few months now. she is the most loving cat and loves to cuddle up. i have never had a problem like this, but just recently after i come in contact with her, i develop a bumpy rash on my arm or neck. does anyone have any reason why this would be happening this late or has anyone else encountered this problem? i usually put tea tree gel on the rash and within an hour, it goes away. i was also able to buy special allergy and shed relief wipes for the siamese which i used on her today, but i still developed the rash. please help so i don't have to avoid petting this beautiful cat!

unfortunately it sounds like you have an allergy to this cat (and probably all cats) . my own allergy manifests itself not just in itchy skin, but watery eyes and wheezing as well, very attractive!! lol my only advice would be to take an antihistamine before you go and visit your grandma so you can ward off your allergic reaction before it happens, hope this helps good luck

It does sound like you have an allergy to possibly her flea treatment or shampoo (if kitty gets a bath) if this has been happening recently. I've never experienced this, but having skin allergies myself and owning 2 cats who've never been flea dipped or shampooed, I'm guessing that is what's wrong. Good luck!

Sounds like you have an allergy to this cat, sorry you may need to avoid this cat.

From experience siamese cats can be quite protective and can change their mood very quickly. One minute you can be patting the cat and it's happy the next it can attack you. May be a good thing you are allergic to the cat

It is possible that you are sensitive to something used on the cat such as a flea treatment. Ask the veterinarian.
