My hair breaks easily and doesn't seem to grow as fast as it used to. I used to have hair that would grow like crazy and THICK. I'm 31 and wondering if it's my age. I don't dye it alot and when I do it's usually just the roots and it's with a dye that doesn't contain ammonia or that harsh crap. Does anyone know of a vitamin or something that will bring my lush locks back????

First off, we need to back up. Ammonia isnt that bad for your hair. What is bad, is the Ammonia subsitute that they use in Ammonia-free colour. You might want to switch the brand of colour you are using.

Also, if your hair is breaking, it means it does not have enough protein and moisture. Best thing to do is buy Nexxus Emergency and use the treatment to stop breakage immedietly.

Then, to have healthy hair, take Vitamin B supplements as well as protein and Vitamin E. Those are the best for your hair. However, topical treatments are best. Use oliveoil in your hair and a good shampoo and conditioner.

I have been having the same problem. The simple answer would be to add vitamin E to your diet, as a supplement.
On the other hand, if you can answer yes to any of the following:
have you:
been sluggish or tired?
noticed your hair thinning or falling out?
had dry or itchy skin?
had trouble losing weight?
gained weight?
Then you should probably ask your doctor to test your thyroid function. Not something I had ever considered as a solution when my hair started to go flat and fall out. Good luck.

A couple of years ago it seemed like my hair just quit growing. Then I met a lady in her 80's that had very nice hair. I asked her what she did that made her hair look so healthy. She reminded me about "Main & Tail" shampoo and conditioner which I used to use. I started using it again and my hair is half way down my back. So now I have to have somebody shave my back every day.(just kidding) The length is to the middle of my back and I get comlpliments on my hair from women. One side effect is I have to clip my nails every week. I get Main & Tail in the pet department at Walmart.

I swear by all the Pantene hair products. There's something for all hair problems. I use the shampoo & conditioner all in one for starters. I like how clean it gets my hair & my hair is no longer dry, & I color it every six to eight weeks. If you smoke, nicotine can have an adverse effect on your hair, skin, & nails. If you don't smoke, try taking some daily vitamins, & eat a heathy diet. Vitamin E is great for your hair also.

I'm not positive on this but I think Vitamin E would help you, also make sure you have really good nutrition. Those might help.
