I have a very close friend I'll call 'Johnny.' Johnny and I are very close. We never run out of things to talk about and people who see us together often think we're already dating. We have sort of a push-pull relationship; we playfully bicker very often, I'll flick him and he'll mess up my hair and call me names.

In my morning class, we don't ever really bicker or argue. He'll turn around and just kind of look at me, then when I look up we both smile and turn a little red, and sometimes pretend we didnt lock eyes. His voice grows softer when he talks to me and helps me with classwork, and more than once I've seen a dreaming sort of grin on his face while doing so.

During our afternoon class he's a little different. He teases me more and just does things like messing up my hair. He calls me little names to get a bit of a reaction from me, and our friends tell us we 'act like a married couple.'

Does he like me?

you sound like me and my fiance when we were still in school. we've known each other since kindergarten, and we were both in other long relationships but one day it just sort of clicked that hey...maybe we are supposed to be together...i kissed him one day almost a year ago and we havent looked back since. we got engaged on christmas and we are thrilled. all our friends that we told when we first got together (we are still in touch with a lot of our old friends) said "finally, what took you so long?" its worth taking a shot at it hun, it could be the best thing you ever do! you seriously sound exactly like he and i did when we were in school, and i asked him shortly after we started dating "did you like me back then?" and he blushed and said "yeah, but i was to scared to do anything about it" so he might, he just isnt sure about how to tell you.

touch me... how can it be? believe me... the sun always shines on TV. *que in 80s synth pop*

so now... does he like you? why do you have to know? why can't you just enjoy your relationship the way it is? sounds like you have plenty of energy flowing between each other. what if you two taking the next step ruins it with expectations and smothering and possessiveness and jealousy? then what?
