My husband used to sleep walk.

Once he was going through a bad patch at work in a factory many many years ago. He kept getting up and getting dressed in the middle of the night because he was so worried about being late. I would always wake him and tell him the time so he would come back to bed. Once I decided to leave him to see if he would wake up! He got dressed and went downstairs and I heard the front door open. I paused a moment and then thought I had better go and wake him up fast! By the time I had got my dressing gown on and ran downstairs he was sat in the car and had started it up! I banged on the car window as he was reversing off the drive, and thankfully he woke up!

Another time - when we lived in a flat - I woke up to hear him unlocking our front door, I shouted him several times as he was trying to get into the flat opposite - stark naked! Thankfully they had remembered to lock their door!

He seems to have stopped the sleepwalking now and just talks a lot!

Apparently I once sung the entire lyrics to a tune that I had not heard that much and didnt particululalry like when asleep once by a girlfriend!

Although I obvioulsy cant verify it, if is true- it just goes to show the power of the subconscious mind when it is working in states of hypnosis druing trance and sleep!!!!

It is thought that the subconscious stores EVERYTHING we percieve during our lifetimes but our conscious mind filters all the rest out and allows us to concentrate on around 4- 7 things at a time when going about our daily business. This is how subliminal messaging works in advertisment, sometimes we dont even need to pay conscious, undivided attention to the messages around us for them to have some effect- they are seen by the subconscious! freaky but interesting stuff.

When I was young I used to sleep walk when I wanted something and was sent to bed before I got it. Wanted to watch TV, get something to eat but I outgrew that, mostly. I often have very vivid dreams and waken up to find myself in the midst of the dream and not really sure where I am. I could be standing out of bed or fighting some imaginary attacker and it usually takes me some time to calm down again before I can get to sleep. My partner talks in his sleep, nothing very unusual in that though

My hubby is always calling numbers in his sleep - he has done this for years.

My 11 year old was sat on our bed whilst we were asleep and had fits of laughter when hubby started the usual number calling and then I shouted bingo in my sleep

I sometimes half wake up but am completely paralysed and can hardly breath. I feel like I'm dying and have to gasp for breath. It's horrible. Actually, I think I might post my own question on this to see if anyone else has the same thing!

My husband sleep walks when he is worried about something, he has tried to get out the front door at my cousins house in Newcastle to go for a wee and was convinced they had locked him in. Another time we were renting a house temporarily and they were building next to us, he came past me and our teenage daughter, out the patio window and pulled his shorts down to pee in the ditches they were digging, when I stopped him from falling in, he said I can't go in the bathroom there is a nasty man in there. He has never lived these down and there is many more lol

I know smeone who can give out full and correct battle orders in his sleep, and tells us all how and what him and his partner do intermatly together. I know it sounds made up, but the whole room gets woken at 3am by this person shouting Fire, Fire Fire, and he is still asleep, then goes onto shouting about his love life, and his "dirty wife".

Instead of snoring my boyfriend makes the noise of a motorbike, when he gets into it, it sounds like a formula 1 race. He also tends to put his hands places where he shouldnt be, not without my permission anyway!!!!! And he promises me he has no recollection of doing it in the morning, the phrase that springs to mind is...."i believe you thousands wouldn't!!!!!!!!!"
