As far as i know, it is only N America where Evangilism is a religion, well more of a cult really. And through technology has spilled out and become televangelism. Following evangilism shows us how easily led the human race really is, if many people say the same thing, people are so naive they start to believe it, but i suppose that can be said about all religions.
Although Evangilism is the only religion i know that is shoved in peoples faces, then they are expected to contribute because of it. It has nothing to do with preaching the word of God but making a quick buck, although that quick buck has become a multimillion dollar business.

To my knowledge they are Christian only. We are the only ones that are "called" to spread the word. Most other religions are a form of "of course you are going to be this because we are all this etc." It is extremely difficult for a person such as a Hindu or Muslim to even be willing to listen to Christian talk. In fact, it is my understanding based on info from a former Muslim, that a Muslim will be killed if he or she openly avows Christianity in Muslim countries. India however is opening up. Several evangelists have made preaching appearances there and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. In the Muslim world, because the "faith" not only leads the religious beliefs but also the government, freedom of speech or hearing is not allowed.

No, this is strictly a Western Christian phenomenon...

Don't forget that Christianity can be a business, and is especially regarded as such with televangelists...it pays for their bills and their lavish vacations too...
