This is a hard question because there are many variables involved. The best way to know is to go see your OB/GYN as soon as possible.

It depends on how long you've been pregnant. Has it just been a couple of weeks, or has it been a month or longer? Depending on how far along you are helps determine if there is a possiblity of both birth control and alcohol have factored in negatively.

Fetal Alcohol Syndrom is a mystery that we haven't quite figured out yet. Some women drink all through their pregnancy and never have a problem. Some drink once or twice and their child is born with FAS. Part of it has to do with when you drink - if it's in the first term or later. If I remember my schooling correctly here, it's in the first three months that are the very dangerous zones - because so much is developing. It is believed that genetics may have something to do with it. Some families seem more prone to the condition then others. Again - the only way to know is by seeing a doctor and having tests done.

When you take birth control you are taking something that helps you body mimick pregnancy so that it doesn't allow an egg to be released and fertilized. Sometimes this does happen - depending on how long you've been taking it or if you managed to miss a pill. Even missing one pill can put you at risk for pregnancy. The progestin found in the birth control is a synthetic form of Progesterone - a natural hormone found at your body, produced at ovulation and also throughout pregnancy. It supports pregnancy by maintaining the health of the womb, among many other important functions. While the Progestin found in the pill is not the best thing - it shouldn't do long term damage if you stop as soon as you even SUSPECT that you are pregnant. Your bobdy should take over.

There are tests that can be done to assess the health of your baby while in the womb. But also keep in mind that these tests are not fool proof. They told my aunt that she was going to have a baby with Downs. She instead had a baby with a hole in it's heart (who is healthy and happy today, three years later). So take it one step at a time.

Make sure you schedule an appointment to see your doctor soon, stay healthy by eating good food, limit caffine intake and avoid alcohol.

I had two pregnancies on the pill. If I were you, I would see a doctor immediately and ask if it's too early to run a test to see whether there are problems with the fetus. If you've done only the ept test, they are not always accurate.

maybe or maybe not. it depends on your system. i know that they say not to drink or smoke when you are pregnant because it can cause premature birth or other health problems or even retardation of the baby but i wouldn't worry because whenever you go to your ob and have an ultrasound done they will tell you if it's anything wrong and if everything sounds normal. just don't dwell on it because that can cause you more stress and higher risk with the baby's health. talk to your ob
