I am still recieving his mail and i asked him to please please please change his address asap in Dec the last time i saw him. I checked watch dogs for sex offenders around my neighborhood as i do monthly and he is still showing living at my house and it is now going on March of 07. What would happen if he got caught?

I register sex offenders in Los Angeles. In most states and soon to be all states, sex registrants have to register for the rest of their lives. If they falsify that information or do not provide that information, then if their original sex case is a felony, then their sex offender registration violation is a felony. Now, if their original sex conviction was a misdemeanor, their first violation is a misdemeanor. Of course that is in California. In order to find out about your state, there is a few options.... First you can call your local police or sheriff's department and find out. You can do any web search on Megan's Law or you can go to this database and do a search http://www.nsopr.gov/.
You can also phone the police or sheriff's department and advise them that this particular sex registrant does not live at your location, of course providing them the name, address and phone number, so that they can at least remove him from your address. Many times it will require a follow-up by a police officer or a detective to remove someone from a documented address. However, those are your best options.....

If a registered sex offender does not register a change of address, a warrant will be issued and he will be arrested. In Tennessee, sexual offenders are required to report annually between 7 days prior to, and 7 days after their birthday. Violent sexual offenders are required to report quarterly during the months of March, June, September, and December. Sexual offenders and violent sexual offenders are required to report in person when they change their address, employment status, or school information between reporting dates. All offenders shall report in person to their designated law enforcement agency within 48 hours of establishing a new address.

Failure to register in my state (Arkansas) is a felony, but only a class D felony, punishable by up to 6 years. Most prosecutors I know don't get too excited about that violation, and only want the offender to register. Tell him to go to his local PD ASAP and get that done. Enough said!

I hope you've reported this already. They probably won't find him again until he molests another child. Try to cooperate with the police. Too bad if he gets caught. I don't know what the law is about that, but I believe he'd get arrested.

If he does not register his new address, he is violating his parole or probation. If he is no longer on parole / probation, he is guilty of contempt of court.
Tell him that you are going to call the courthouse on (Monday) to have your address removed from the registry, and he has until then to get it straightened out.

Many offenders are not registered. Not much ever happens to them, even though it is illegal. Turn him in and see.
