I'm mexican and we have two tortilla presses at home, a metal one and a wooden one. They work perfectly with "masa" (maize dough). The wooden one is better. I don't know about indian bread and flour tortillas.

Yes! Definitely! I've had one now for 5 years. It's a VillaWare. Homemade tortillas are SO much better than store-bought. They're so easy to make too. It was only about $70 with shipping. You'll never regret it!

Only if you really need it and or got the money to spend i guess to me it wouldn't be worth it cause that money could be spent more wisely ... and if you can't do it bye hand then maybe it's not worth it.
but that is me.
Do what you want if you thing your going to use it alot and have the money then do it, make sure it's something you really need not just want. or just something to waste money on.
