Buy "You: On a Diet" by Dr. Mehmet Oz. It is the best and most comprehensive guide to eating healthy and losing weight that I have ever read. You might also try the American Diabetes Association. They will have the food groups, etc on the website. The best advice is to divide your plate into 4ths. 1/4 of your plate should have meat , 1/2 of your plate should have vegetables and 1/4 should have carbs. You should eat a lot of green leafy vegetables and have a helping of dairy at least once a day. Just use common sense, that should do it.

always have vegetables on hand saute a big bag of frozen mixed vegetables in olive oil and garlic add some red pepper or turmeric for additional flavor and separate into portion sized containers for the fridge

take your current body weight and multiply it by 7 and that will give you the ammount of calories you can eat and lose weight, remember to adjust it as your weight drops, this formula was given to me by my doctor and it is also the formula used by the Biggest loser tv show, Good Luck!
