this 'devil' you speak of I would assume it would be the same devil from the bible?
well first, this devil did not exist in the original texts that the bible was derived from, the bible most christians open, is far removed from the original writings, many religous leaders, and monarchs throughout history, have changed this books contents to fit thier needs.
Second, the concepts involved for good/evil deities, is a very primitive thought process. the human race has evolved alot since these concepts were first used, and is slowly moving to a point where it no longer NEEDS this type of belief.
Third, if someone did say they seen "The Devil" i would guess they were on very heavy drugs, or need psychiatric help.

I have friends that have talked to his evil angels when they were possessing someone. The person was not the one talking, but a deep voice came out of his abdomen region. The demon's name was Violence. Sounds cheezy or like I am using a metaphor, but it is true. They talked to him for like 6 hours (through much cursing and swearing on his part)tried to get him to leave the guy, that obviously was the wrong tactic. It was not until they confronted him with scripture that talked about Satan having no more power over us, that the demon acknowledged, "I've known that for 2000 years". My friends(it was a theology student and his wife) told the man to called out to Jesus to save him. Even though it was extremely difficult for him to say that name, he did, just then the evil angel starts arguing with an unheard voice. It was like listening to someone talk on the phone and only hearing one side of the conversation, but you can still guess what the other person is saying. The demon said.
"No.
Pause
He's mine. I am allowed to be here.
Pause
I have every right to be here.......
pause
Fine. I'll leave.
pause.
I said I am leaving. Pause ok,ok I'm leaving alright?!"
and the evil angel left.

Later that evening or morning, after coming to consciousness he went back and destroyed his music collection with violent lyrics by breaking apart his cd's. When he came back in his room after leaving for a second, he found every single cd back in place on the shelf as if he had never touched them. They had been melded back together. Right then his phone rang, when he picked it up, it was his favorite heavy rock song blaring from the earpiece. So he booked it out of the room pretty fast. He came back later and burned those CDs and it never happened again. This actually happened at the school that I currently attend. It was witnessed by quite a few people.

I have one more story and it actually involves Satan himself. I can't give you all the background of the story, because it is too long, but the climax is when this man is sitting in a chair in a room with a bunch of people he shouldn't have been hanging around with.(It was one of the things that invited trouble from Satan in the first place) and right in front of him, this tall buff man materializes and he is already in stride walking towards him. The guy this happened to said he could see Satan was wearing a cape with a big collar(wait it gets better) and there was the figure of a cobra head that arched around the back of his head and was a little bit taller than his head. I don't know who the devil's designer is, but I think he needs a new one. Anyways, he appears as he is walking right towards this guy, and he grabs him and picks him up by the throat and walks him right into the next room through the door(without opening it) and continues choking him. At the same time the person who told me this story felt strongly impressed to pray for this man. Finally due to his intercession Satan let the man go and disappeared. He stumbled back in the room to where his friends were. They were all shocked since they had just seen him sitting in the chair and yet he just came in from the bedroom. All of his "friends" could have sworn that this guy never left the room. An evil angel had taken the form of the man and sat in his chair the entire time we was being choked so as to not alarm his friends about what was going on. A very coordinated attack to say the least. He is the only person that I have heard of having been attacked by Satan himself(although there could have been others). Apparently he wanted the job done right. This will be unbelievable to anyone who does not believe in the supernatural. It is not even evidence for them at all. However I can assure you that these are true events and not simply stories from my or any one else's imagination. I have other stories of this same sort of thing and so do many other people. The devil is real, sometimes people have seen him, but I would say he is not in the habit of making himself known to people. It behooves him to make people think he is a mythical creature with hooves and a pitchfork, instead of a real threat to their lives and salvation. Like I said. This doesn't mean squat if you refuse to believe me. If you didn't believe in UFO's and I told you I saw one out my backyard, you'd think I was lying, crazy, or simply mistaken. I do not believe in UFO's and can guarantee that I am not lying, crazy, or mistaken. This took me an EFFING long time to type. I have 2 tests tomorrow and I would not "waste" this time if I didn't think that this is an extremely important truth for you to hear. This also does absolutely nothing if I do not point out the One with more power than Satan. Jesus. He is the one who we should be focused on. With him, the devil has no power over us. I hope that you have accepted him, if not, I sincerely do wish that you would. You won't be sorry.

The "devil" is a metaphor for what resides in us all. Look in the mirror, and you will see part of who makes up "the Devil". The Devil is a many-membered body, like "Christ".

hard to see a fictitious character based on "Pan" and other fertility gods used to help Pagans convert to Christianity...The Devil like God are figments of the imagination used to scare ppl into behaving and believing.

Kill your God, Free your mind.
-Amen

I believe that Satan has the power to allow himself to be seen by people. Whether or not he has, I do not know.

I have never seen him, but yes, I believe people have and do see him. Just as some have seen God/Jesus/Mary.
