Is the clumping type work good?

We have 4 housecats of our own and are fostering a cat that we keep indoors. We use the scoopable kind (clumping). It is so much easier to keep your box clean and odor free from day to day. We alternate between Tidy Cats Multiple Cats and Fresh Step (whichever is on sale at PetSmart!). Avoid the generic/"cheapo" brands; we have found it does not clump the cat pee together near as tightly and has a lot of dust to it when you are filling the empty boxes and scooping. We scoop 2 times a day, then when the litter is getting low and there are several little pieces of waste (i know it sounds nasty, but its reality!) that really cannot be scooped, we empty and refill (usually 2 times a week). Also, litter pan liners REALLY help with the clumps not sticking to the bottom of the box. Tidy Cats makes a good one as well as Van Ness, just make sure to get the right size, and if you don't have any litter pan liners, a big black trash bag will work good too. Good Luck!

The clumping type is great, as long as you keep it scooped out daily. Otherwise the clumps may begin to break up, and you may as well save your money and get the clay type. My favorite clay is they Tidy Cat crystal blend (it is also available as a scoopable). The clay type also doesn’t track everywhere as much as the scoopable.

As far as clumping litters go, the best smelling cat litter I’ve found is the Tidy Cat Small Spaces (jug has an orange lid). It actually smells yummy, like Tang. Problem is, I can tell when the cats use it. Best cat litter I’ve found for having absolutely no odor at all is Fresh Step, with the carbon. Can’t smell a thing, even when it is freshly used. The litter I use now is Feline Pine. It’s not as good with odor control, but it doesn’t track nearly as much, and clumps very well. Also, I have a Littermaid automatic litter box, and unlike all other clumping litters I’ve tried, it doesn’t start sticking to the pan or the rake, and the litter box continues to work easily.

The only brand I ever use and recommend is Fresh Step Scoopable. I have two cats that are totally indoor cats, and there has never been an odor problem using that litter. I've tried many other brands, and none work anywhere near as well. Depending on the number of cats, scoop out the litter box at least once a day. I scoop ours out in the morning and evening every day.

The clumping type is the best! Fresh Step is the brand to go with because of the fresh smell every time a kitty covers its stuff. (That's to say, if your cat doesn't just jump out and run from the poop smell). I have one like that!

Im also a fan of Tidy Cats, the clumping kind usually fairly cheap and comes in a big jug. Get the Blue one.

My dog is litter trained and I've found the best to reduce smell and that clumps nicely is scoop away.

I recommend the clumping type, it's easy to clean.

I go with fresh step, the one with the orange cat and the blue sky. it smells the best, and the cats like it.

I use arm & hammer easy flush, it clumps everything, it takes care of the smell, and you can flush it down the toilet so you don't have to put it in your trash can. It's a little more expensive, but it lasts a long time. If you can't find the easy flush, the regular super scoop is also good.
