So I am going flying for the first time for business reasons (within US). I wanted to know if I am allowed to bring a suit with me onboard as carry-on in one of those dry-cleaner type bags. If I can does it count as one of my 2 carry-ons??

Yes you can bring it on, but it will count as 1 of your carry-on's. You'll have nowhere to hang it, so it'll have to go in the overhead bin. You might get lucky though if your nice to the flight attendant and ask if they have a closet to hang it up. Some planes still do have tiny closets near the kitchen area, but just ask before you board.

Its a good question. If its in one of those clear plastic dry cleaning bags - it may not be. As you are allowed to bring jackets/coats and those dont count.

If its a zippered garment bag, then it woud definatly be considered part of your carry on allowence.

Personally I would buy an inexpensive garment bag at Walmart or Target just to protect your suit - plus it would be more professional looking

I think it counts as 2 bags. Put it in a regular carry-on bag.

Now the TSA says that u can have 1 carry-on luggage and also only fluids that are 3.5 ounces or less in one quart-sized bag.

Yes, you can. Yes, it is. And they no longer have closets to hang things in, so you'll have to store it in the overhead.
