Is this because he's constantly licking there?Because if it is his/her glands are infected and there's a certain method to fixing that whih doesnt include a bath.A Vet will probably know better, but, what you do is in order to relieve the problem, the anal sacs must be emptied or expressed by either gently pushing on the exterior parts of the anus (at 4 O'clock and 8 O'clock if you imagine your pet's anus to be a clock).Lol.Seriously.If youre not up for it,seek a vet.

dogs have anal glands that have to be cleaned, usually by a vet. Cats normally do not need help in that area.

By the way, I bathe my cats whenever it seems they are not doing a good enough job cleaning themselves. Some cats I have had over the years only needed a semi-yearly bath. Other cats needed a bath about once a month.

Cats don't even need to be bathed, they keep themselves clean. Unless it got into something sticky that it cannot handle itself you should have NO reason to wash him/her. Anal glands only need to be expressed if they are clogged and are not naturally expressing themselves. Usually dogs glands get "clogged" but it it a lot rarer for cats to have this problem. Leave the anal glands alone unless your cat has a problem with them.

you shouldnt give cats a bath, and you should take it to the vet for the anal gland, how in the world could you do both! your cat must be very calm.

I found using baby wipes and wetting them very useful for cleaning their botty departments. I have a siamese and a devon rex so I understand the need to do it fairly regularly. Especially considering one of my boys doesn't like to clean himself as much as he should.

When washing them in the tub, a simple cotton pad (same as makeup pads) soaked in warm water also works. (mind the soap! OUCHIES!)

Be very gentle as this is not something that kitties generally enjoy having done. good luck!

you're giving a cat a bath? you're brave, aren't you? I gave my cat (then a kitten) two baths. I haven't done it since.

you don't need to clean it, they'll clean it themselves. the only thing you need to clean is their head, since they can't reach that.

Okay, first, you do not give your cat a bath, you wipe it down, CATS HATE WATER, and they normally lick themselves clean.

Second, an anal whata who?
