Agree.....

I always sort of thought it about as being like Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy....if we ever figure the Universe Out, God just makes it more complex again.

If religion were proven, it wouldn't require faith, or discipline.

I disagree. This is the 21st century, and people are more informed about a wider variety of topics than ever before. Blindly believing in the same thing that people believed in 2000 years ago simply doesn't make sense to me.

The problem with trying to prove any of the stories behind religion is not that it cheapens it, but rather that it weakens it because no such proof exists.

Totally disagree.
Medicine is only now realizing the "mind-body" connection. Physics is only on the very brink of discovering how the Universe came to be and how energy really works. Buddhists (inspired by the Dalai Lama) are studying the effects of meditation in scientific settings. This is only a few reasons that science is totally necessary to spirituality.

But...to clarify, I am nowhere near Christian, and my "faith" is based in science.

You have a good point. I think it also goes both ways. You cannot make science say something that it doesn't. Science does not test things that are not testable. Faith cannot be tested. The existence of God cannot be tested. Spiritual beings cannot be tested. It's not a tangible thing. Yes, it is faith based and should remain as that. We can mesh science and faith in some ways, but we shouldn't use the terms of one to explain the other.

Religions are institutions of man based on tradition and dogma; faith is a personal possession. If alternative dimensions of reality (spiritual realms) are ever proven to exist, it will be science that provides the proof, not religion.

Agree. It's kind of like talking about how the east bunny could possibly lay so many eggs cheapens it.

Faith is a gift from God and religion is the justice towards God
God is the highest form of truth and siences are a lower truth such as mathamtics, chemistry, biology, physics, etc...
Therefore I would tend to agree with you

Balderdash. Science is faith based (nothing is certain), and religious beliefs, debunked by science, back down over time. Who still believes the world is flat? They are not as far apart as people believe.

I guess most people don't get that God can't be explained in scientific terms, basically because He invented science in the first place.
If you think about it for awhile, it will make more sense to you, I think.
Asking a human being to explain God is sort of like asking a frog to explain Friday.............

Agree. Not that I think science disproves God,but faith is faith,it is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen.
