A lot of people!

Have you ever noticed that the ones who don't like cops are usually the mouthpieces who act like complete morons. They get treated worse by the cops because cops treat people like people treat cops. If these same people would open their eyes and realize this, I'm sure they would have a different outlook. I'm always amazed at how many people will tell a cop how long it took for the cop to get to their complaint. It's as if they think the cops are sitting at the donut shop just waiting for them to call. People seem to think there are no other crimes in the world except their own, and there should be a cop there for them in a snap.

I've been helped out, given a break,
and saved from certain disaster.
They are pretty much okay in my book.
The news doesn't show you the cops
playing basketball with under privileged
kids, or all the money they donate from
fund raisers to help folks out. They just
want to shock you, by showing you someone
getting hit or put in a police car. You would
start to feel differently, if it were your life on TV.
If you think they pander to the criminals,
then you have been watching too much TV.

A lot of people don't like the police; we are in the business of telling people things that they don't want to hear and don't like.

Funny though; those people still call us when they need us...

How many people do not like Dr. Phil? Funny thing, millions of people tune in everyday to watch him do what I do on a daily basis. Ask people the "hard questions" and try to help them figure out they are so messed up and to try and help them change their lives!

Difference is: if a guest screams profanities and offends Dr. Phil, he kicks them off the show; I have to tolerate it. If a guest wants to fight Dr. Phil, he has a bunch of guys who can intervene (although I have never heard of Jerry Springer action on Dr. Phil show); I have to fight and pray that this guy isn't on enough mind-altering drugs to defeat me and that my back up gets there quickly. If Dr. Phil makes a mistake, he does another take; I I make a mistake I don't get a second chance - someone's rights could get violated or someone could die.

People may not like me all the time b/c sometimes I arrest them or give them a ticket; sometimes I help them get a restraining order, or take them to a shelter or help them find the missing child/parent/animal; sometimes I offer advice, or just listen; but sometimes its just too late, but even then, I am still there, doing my job for them, whether they like me or not.

From my own professional interactions with them, I cant stand them. They are armed with enough knowledge to be dangerous, but dont know a damn thing.
