Alright I was talking to this one person aka "mimster". She thinks that running is better but i think cross country skiing. We are both high jumpers and 100 meter runners so which one would be better for those events. It also is snowing where we live. Going for the same distance (3 miles).

Both are going to only help get core endurance and fitness. The speed needed for high jump and 100 is not going to come from either of these training methods. That being said, go with the X-Country skiing. They are both great for keeping you cardio level up, and the skiing will save some wear and tear on your joints. I would think about swimming too.

Doing both would be great. I would say if you had to choose between the two go with running. Training your muscles is very important and you should get them used to doing the motions that they will be doing during track.
