There seems to be a lot of aggressive behaviour towards local residents from young thugs in my street. It has got to the point where I am a bit scared to leave my girlfreind alone in the house. They have broken a drain pipe, used threatening behaviour towards a neighbour, banging on windows and doors. A lot of my neighbours are older and some are women with children who find this very intimidating. I have rang the police and have been given an incident number with a promise of somone ringing me back in a couple of days. As you can imagine, this does not make me feel very secure. I am a part time artist and I am thinking of imortalising the f##kers in series of photo's and putting them around the local area. Can I get in trouble?

You are a good person. How awful that a few gurriers are causing so much trouble and stress.

I love the idea of the photos but I fear that if the thugs found out that you did it they would make your life miserable and you could be hurt. I think you should get the rest of the neighbours together and get everyone to ring and write to the police and their/your local government representative. I would do this on a daily basis...make the police and the councillors understand that they will be hearing from you every day untill something is done for you.I saw some programmes on TV showing something like you described. I remember one woman who said 'enough is enough'. She worked to clear the streets of the thugs. She got the job done.

If the brats are underage their parents should be hauled into court. The brats should be sent to a bootcamp and kept there until either they change or (better not finish what I am thinking) but that kind of carry-on brings out the worst in me. They should be made to work for the comunity.

Go to the police again and insist that they do something. They should patroll the streets every night untill this stops. And go to the councillors, they come knocking on doors looking for votes when it suits them, now let them do something for the people. You will have to really push your cause and make them pay attention to your problem before someone is hurt or taken ill from all the worry.

Take care and God bless. I will say a prayer that your troubles will soon be over. Try to be calm and don't let the brats make you ill and spoil life for you and your girl.x

Just be carful!
It sounds like your heart is in the right place so, i will help ya.
If you want to get pictures them, get a security camera set up all around your house,it sounds like they have been bugging you for a while so, probably know what time of day they come around.
DO NOT let them see you putting them up!
It would be a lot worse if saw you, a lot then just banging on windows!
When you get a really good tape of them and their faces, you can take them down to the police, your videos might even end up on the news and they can take parts of the tape, where they can see their faces really good and turn them in to pictures!
Might sure your security camera has night vision!

Hope this helps you out,
I will be praying for you and this problem you are dealing with
and may God bless you!

hey i don't think your allowed to take pics and display them without permission, so id be care full it could backfire on yourself, and your girlfriend

be careful what you are doing, yeah you have an incident number persist to call it, were I'm from there's an anti social task force they can help too

if they know its you who does the pictures then it may be worse of yourself

personally i know what i would do but it would only end up with your self committing a crime and them winning, be fly and careful what you are doing keep reporting them, mind if you have to give a statement its your name and address that there lawyers get so you cant win either way, only if a judge rules that your privacy is protected

why don't you get onto your council and flee violence to get away form the area, pester them to get you a move as its affecting your daily living

gosh i hope you all the best ive been there myself its such a horrible thing that effect everything that you do, its not the best answer i would have something done to them, but i know it isn't right so your best to keep reporting them, good luck

It's a tricky one.

European courts have ruled that a private citizen cannot record on CCTV outside of their own proprty as it infringes other peoples human rights, even if their intent is to prevent crime.

However if you are reacting to a crime in progress or to suspicious cicrumstances then it's alright.

However if it is discovered that you took the pictures, those persons could bring a civil suite against you under the human rights conventions.

the likelyhood of scrotes to do that is slim to none.... personally id do it.

Hope ive helped. Legally yeah its possibly you may get a court order, however the chances are negligible.

your call

without them being actually convicted , NO, but turn the pics over to the police, if they won't deal, arrest one of them using your rights 'citizens arrest'. Just make sure your safe ! The police can not be everywhere at once, and likeley by ime you've called the little bar stewards would have gone. why not set up a sfaer neighbourhood with the help of the police, they will be more than willing to help ???

Sounds legal to me. I'd be more afraid of retaliation, though. Be sure they don't see you... or know that you're an artist.

Or you can always explore the medium of fire while immortalizing them. Turn their homes into a beautiful piece of art, with flame tongues of orange and yellow and (depending on what kind of materials the house is made of) green and purple!

Of course... this may be considered arson... so you might not want to get caught doing that either.

If its anonymous I dont see how they will find out. Cover all your tracks and go for it. Dont copy anything at a public photo copier. Do it all on the QT and you will be ok. Make sure you pin up the posters at night or early hours. Good luck and good idea well done.

Don't do it. You'll only get hurt, the Ba*t*rds pick on nice law abiding people like you! think of your family and friends. Tell the police, if they don't help, tell your MP, Local Councillor, they will help, other than that, MOVE HOUSE!

You should be a bit careful of libel if you put words to the pictures and its traced back to you, you might have to prove what you say. Be careful too incase the yobs trace you.

Part-time artist? Get a real job and you'll be too busy working and sleeping to worry about immortalising young thugs. Consider the implications if they find out it was you or you wrongly accuse someone. Then scrap the idea and get that job instead. Too much time in front of Jeremy Kyle has done you no favours.
