What price IS affordable? How much are ya willing to spend?
If you are talking $100 and don't enlarge shots say more than 5X7 then 2 cameras.
Canon PowerShot A530
Fugi Film FinePix A500.

Your question is too vague. How about giving an idea of what you can afford. Is $100 too expensive ... or is $500 a reasonable price?

What do you consider a good camera? Point & shoot? SLR? 2 megapixel? 10 megapixel?

What do you want?

Here's my suggestion, go to a store that carries a lot of digital cameras (like Best Buy or even WalMart) and do a little comparrison shopping. Find the cameras that fit your price range, then compare their features. Get the best you can afford.

It would depend on what you consider affordable.

As a rule of thumb, I personally like Canon's bang for the buck.
