Are they vegetables? Do they grow? On what? Where can I find them before they go into cans? Are they man-made?

I am talking about regular ol' Heinz beans... you know

I've never seen a bean growing in the dirt before! Do they come from a bigger plant like corn of ear... or whatever?

There Harricot beans, and are grown by the millions in china and far east. Its a multi million pound industry. Beans are classed a staple food in nearly every western country and compitition is rife.

There soaked and salted then added to the tomato sauce. Simple.

OK, this is by far the most DUH question I've seen here. Beans are vegetables. They grow just like any other plant. You can find them growing on farms.
