It is simple to place music into your PowerPoint, I'll go over it step by step. Before you do that, though, please make a folder for your PowerPoint. This is where you will store stuff....it makes it easier for the PowerPoint to find the music when it is ready to play....then if you want to burn it to a cd or put the folder somewhere else, it will go together. 1st SAVE YOUR POWERPOINT TO THE FOLDER...

You can have the PowerPoint play to a cd, but that is annoying to me because you have to have the cd in the drive for it to work.

Here's the easiest way:

1) Find the song you want to play and put it in the folder. Drag a track from itunes into the PowerPoint folder- or whatever music file you use.
2) Go to the slide you want to start the music.
3) Go to: Insert: Movies and Sounds:Sounds from File
4) Find the song, click INSERT. A little speaker will pop onto your slide. This is the music icon.
5) NEXT: Go to Slide Show:Animations:Custom
6) In the Custom Animations Box, click on Options
7) Check Loop Until Stopped and Hide While Not Playing, so it won't show up on your screen
8) If you want the song to play for a few slides, check Play Using Animation Order, then click Continue Slide Show
9) Next, choose Stop Playing After ____ Slides. Count how many slides until you want it to stop, scroll to that number.
10) Click OK

You can insert multiple songs by following the above steps.

Good luck with your presentation. If you get stuck, go to

I have Office 2003 and mine allows me to insert mp3's.

Go to Insert / Movies and Sounds / Sound from file...

You can try using a converter though, I just googled "convert mp3 to wav" and a lot of sites popped up. The first one is:

http://www.convertmp3towav.com/

and it appears to be free. Most converters that cost money have a trial period where you won't have to pay, if you just have a few files you need to convert.
