You can buy Skin lightener. It's a cream that you put on your face. It won't make you lighten 2 shades of a difference, but over 3 months of usage your skin will look brighter-lighter. Most people use skin lightner cream to get rid of discoloration o the face. You can buy it at any drugstore or Walmart. It just has to read Skin lightener or bright cream. Look for those words on the bottle. (Kinerase Pro Therapy Skin Lightener Bleaching Cream is a more pricey brand about $90) Just don't wear this stuff in the sun. Some products are thick. Don't use the peels. They can leave you with a red face for weeks until it peels for the new skin. I

I feel really sorry for you. Society always dictates how you should be and only the strong can stand up against those narrow minded views. As someone else has already said, learn to love yourself. So you are different to other family members but rejoice in your difference and accept that variety is the spice of life. One day someone will pay you all the compliments you like and you will see how important you are. You are special, believe that. Think perhaps the reason why you don't get compliments is because you are shy and embarassed about your colour - people pick up on negative vibes and most of them will ignore it or you as the case may be. Michael Jackson has sung about rejoicing in your colour - so do just that.

where are u based. if u r in india i wud suggest u to use 'eukroma' cream. will find in any medicla store i think its 36 rupees. try it for aweek and u will see the difference. its not only for face u can use it for the whole body. do not apply it the way u use other creams a just a lil. use a lot and do not scrub it as mentioned in the instruction because it takes a long time to lighten the skin. all i do is just apply it a day before the functions and all pimple marks and dark circles vanishes completely also skin turns out fair. i am using it for six minths now nobody will say i am an indian. people next to me always ask the secret. because its not a lil difference its a huge difference.

Here are simple things to DO...To Get Gorgeous Skin

* Don't go to bed with makeup on. Makeup left on overnight seeps into your pores, clogs them, and congests your skin. Make sure that you wash your face twice at the end of the day. Once to get the makeup off. A second time to wash the skin itself.

* Exfoliate daily. After washing your face at night, be sure to exfoliate. Use a delicate scrub. If you don't have one on hand, a tablespoon of sugar or oatmeal will work just fine.

* Use facial masks regularly. If possible, everyday is ideal. Again, if you don't have one on hand, make your own. Mashed banana or avocado is good. Plain yogurt also works well.

* Keep a treatment and moisturizer on your face, day or night. Put your skin first. After you wash it at night, put on some kind of skin treatment, whether it's alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin A or C, or any kind of special cocktail treatment. Let that sink in, then put a moisturizer over that. In the morning, do the same.

* Don't use the cheapest or most expensive cosmetics. Mom tells me that moderately priced cosmetics are the best. They get the job done, and the ingredients are usually pretty good. You have to keep trying various brands until you find something that works well for you.

* Hydrate your face throughout the day. Whether it's a commercial product, or one you make yourself (fill a spray bottle with distilled water, add a few drops of chamomile or rose essential oil, shake it gently before each use, and spray it on) hydrate your face, even over makeup, frequently throughout the day.

* Treat your face gently. Never pull, tug, or scrub your facial skin. Be very gentle when you clean it, moisturize it or makeup on it. This will lessen the chance that you'll damage your skin and get wrinkles.

* Keep your face covered when you're in the sun. As beautiful as she is, my mom never lets anyone see her face when she's in the sun. She'll slather on a high factor sunscreen, put on sunglasses, and a wide brimmed hat.

* Eat fresh foods and drink lots of water. My mom tells me to stay away from "dead food" food that's basically not fresh. She always eat lots of veggies, fruits, nuts, and drinks tons of water.

* Let go of stress. Stress can show up on your face, no matter how well you take care of your skin. Do something your enjoy everyday, whether it's watching TV or going shopping. Your face reflects what's going on inside of your mind.

Honestly I think a treatment to lighten your skin can only come from a dermatlogist... but I think you should forget what they say and work what you got... beauty comes in all different colors!
I am very pale and for a while thought, I really wanted a killer tan but though 1.) my skin can turn orange from those creams or 2.) have really bad long term effects from natural sun.
Play up what you got... I am telling you I have noticed beauty in all shades.... now if you tell me nose job, or boob job, or loosing weight... thats a different story....

Please don't. My brother has slightly darker skin than my sister, mother and I. We all are tall and have similar facial features, so his skin color is something that makes him unique in our family. My sister has naturally red curly hair while I have naturally wavy blonde hair. All three of us siblings have physical attributes connecting us as a family, but we appreicate our unique qualities as well.

I know this probably isn't the sort of advice you were looking for, but it's so much more important to appreciate yourself and others as is and surround yourself with people who can do the same.

my advice for u is not to bleach or atleast use as few times as possible. bleaching may make you look fairer for a few days but after a few years your skin will darken and will look very ugly. As for fair and lovely i dont recommend tht as well as it contains bleach. Best is to avoid sun, use a sun screen even when ur inside house, apply herbal pastes made of chandan, milk, turmeric, saffron, etc.I thnik dark skin looks good too, but I knw tht fair skin is valued a lot in india. but still try to feel good about wht u have, may b u hav good features or r good at studies. Look at wht u hav rather than at what u dont.

Color shouldn't really matter because beauty comes in all different shapes. But if you think that the line above is all just bullshit, then i recommend that you use Fair N' Lovely. I never tried it but I know someone that does and for some reason for them it works!
