For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

This is basically saying that nature is evidence that God exists.
We exist, therefore God exists.
I was just struck when I read this because it's a very interesting idea to someone who is not sure about his faith. It's just something to think about, what do you guys think?

Peanuts are evidence pink unicorns exist.
Peanuts exist, therefore pink unicorns exist.

This is circular logic.

The first statement is false, because there actually IS no evidence peanuts are proof of pink unicorn's existence, regardless of who wrote it in a book thousands of ago and how many people believe or spread that information.

Now, if you haven't realized it yet, in this analogy:
Peanuts : Nature :: Pink Unicorn : God

It's a sound argument, but sound arguments need facts to become true. Not faith.

It's an interesting take, that you see this as a way to strengthen your faith. Until now, i've only seen it used as a bludgeon by proselytizers, who laughably quote it to people who don't believe what's written in the Bible anyway! But if the passage helps you out, then it's good to see a more positive end from it. (I do take exception to vv. 24 - 32, though.)

I think St. Paul was unable to imagine someone with a different world view. Granted Paul didn't have the scientific knowledge that we have to explain how the world came about, but that excuse won't work for today's believers.

I look at the world and i see beauty, power, complexity, pain, happiness, and calamity, but i truly, honestly, think that this is more easily explained *without* a god than with one. In the unlikely event that St. Paul's god exists, my "excuse" would be that i could neither see nor understand it. I cannot fake belief.

No, I never got that. Even when I was a Christian I never got that. At the time I took it as an assertion that was true, because it was in the bible, which I took to be true.

But looking at nature, the atheistic model seemed to cover the data at least as well, so "look at the world and the night sky" was never a "knock 'em down and drag 'em out" argument for the existence of God.

Modern astronomy does point to the biggest throw-away line in the bible:
one-fifth of Genesis 1:16
"... he made the stars also."

It is so true, actually it just started hailing at my house, totally awesome. And in the distance I can see a huge rainbow!! There is no way that I could deny the existence of God. Buy the way doesn't that kind of debunk the entire obsession with global warming?? Sometime I think we make ourselves out to be a lot more powerful than we really are. God is the one who controls the weather and the happenings of this earth. God is awesome in power and mighty in strength!

God Bless!!

The argument boils down to this:

1: A god is necessary to make a universe.
2: The universe exists.
3: Therefore a god exists.

If anyone could prove 1 then we should all believe 3. Needless to say, no-one ever has, in all of human history.

I totally agree that nature proves God. God made so many wonderous and beautiful things that are just amazing. We look at things and wonder how they work and that is part of what God gave to us because without that curiosity we wouldn't have advanced. God also made us with this great feeling we get from worshiping and praising which has been proven with science, or at least thats what I heard last.

It's OK!!! But this is better!!!

Each morning upon rising, and each evening before sleeping, gives thanks for the life within you and for all life, for the good things the Creator has given you and for the opportunity to grow a little more each day. Consider your thoughts and actions of the past day and seek for the courage and strength to be a better person. Seek for the things that will benefit others (everyone).

2. Respect. Respect means "To feel or show honor or esteem for someone or something; to consider the well being of, or to treat someone or something with deference or courtesy". Showing respect is a basic law of life.

3. Once a council has decided something in unity, respect demands that no one speak secretly against what has been decided. If the council has made an error, that error will become apparent to everyone in its own time.

4. Be truthful at all times, and under all conditions.

5. Always treat your guests with honor and consideration. Give of your best food, your best blankets, the best part of your house, and your best service to your guests.

6. The hurt of one is the hurt of all; the honor of one is the honor of all.

7. Receive strangers and outsiders with a loving heart and as members of the human family.

8. All the races and tribes in the world are like the different colored flowers of one meadow. All are beautiful. As children of the Creator they must all be respected.

9. To serve others, to be of some use to family, community, nation, and the world is one of the main purposes for which human beings have been created. Do not fill yourself with your own affairs and forget you’re most important talks. True happiness comes only to those who dedicate their lives to the service of others.

10. Observe moderation and balance in all things.

11. Know those things that lead to your well-being and those things that lead to your destruction.

12. Listen to and follow the guidance given to your heart. Expect guidance to come in many forms; in prayer, in dreams, in times of quiet solitude, and in the words and deeds of wise Elders and friends

Wahoo!!!

All of nature and everything that God made cry out that God exists and that He is all powerful.

Those who deny God are without excuse. Can't say that they did not know. They have refused to accept the evidence of the Truth.

"We exist therefore god exist" That is so true seeing as how humans are the ones who created god to explain things that were to hard to understand thousands of years ago.

i htink a normal perso ncan see thaqt nature is not evidence that god exists.

if it is though...HOW is it evidence?

if our existence proves your gods existence then couldnt the same be said for any other god? example: we exist therefore ALLAH exists. or we exist therefore The FSM exists. or Santa Clause exists.

this is some sophomoric logic that was obliterated a long time ago. i reccomend readin up on where the debate between religion & nonreligion is.
