there are many scientific theories to man kind's origins....

creation, evolution, mysticism........all have some evidence to back them up, but none can be proven. (don't argue that IS the truth).

people think that EVOLUTION is incorrect because it contradicts God. there is a minor theory that God used evolution, but that holds very little ground as you have to assume mankind (about 1450-1410 B.C) was smart enough to understand a concept like God changed fish to man. Since this is not what is written and even a "neanderthal" could comprehend it, logically, it's an easily destroyed theory in scientific areas. Besides, Christians don't believe God is a liar.

It's conjecture based on interpreted observation. That does not qualify as a scientific theory. It is at best an hypothesis and one that cannot be tested or proven....therefore only useful as an intellectual exercise.

I know this is a huge oversimplification - college professors make careers out of questions like these.

Some people and some religions feel that religion and science conflict. For example, did God make Adam in His image from dirt in 4000 BC or did humans and apes evolve from a common ancestor over roughly three million years? Some people feel that one must be true and the other must be wrong.

Some people's faith in religion is much stronger than their faith in science. These people are proud that their faith is so strong.

I don't actually know *anyone* who doesn't accept the scientific explanation. Perhaps people are better educated here (England) than other places.

I think MOST people believe in God, therefore the Bible tells us that we were created by Him and not by Science! Great question!
