The price can be $800 - $1000 for a cat or dog, respectively. I love my one cat, Blaze, (I have three) and I want to do this and keep him forever! My wife says "over my (hers-not mine) dead body!" Well, I will really miss my wife when she goes! Just kidding. Seriously, if you had the money, would you freeze dry your pet to keep until the day you die? I am very serious about this question. Thank you. frjk

Here is an article on it in my local newspaper.

If I had the money yes. At this point in time, I wouldn't have the money though. My first cat that was my baby for 16 years, I wanted to have him freeze dried and kept permanantly by a taxidermist lying in his favorite position. I couldn't afford it though.

I know some people say it's gross. But, seeing my baby everyday in his most natural position would've made me feel a lot better. I'm all for it. I just wish it was cheaper to do.

I probably would do it. It would be nice to have a pet forever until you die. I think that they should lower the price a little bit, but it is nice to keep it without it stenching up the world. I would. You should go for it, and your wife should get over it! Blessings to you and your kitties!!

nah i would not want to see my dead frozen pet everyday just so i can be buried with it. you have to let go no matter how hard it is... i would rather get a new pet after a while so i could be happy again. after all pets are your friends and are there for you emotionally, and the only way they can help you emotionally is if they are there to lick your face or get you all furry... they cant cheer you up when they are a frozen lifeless corpse in the middle of the living room.

No I wouldn't freeze dry my pet. The only reason I wounldnt is because they don't look real. I've seen specials on TV about that and they look fake and to me that isn't worth the money....Now, if we are able to clone our pets in the future...you bet I'm on board with that! I've got a buried cat in my backyard that I will dig up and clone if I could.

I like my cats, but not NEARLY well enough to keep them around after they die. I suspect that when they are ready to go, they won't look a lot like the cats that I knew and loved for much of their lives, and to preserve the body of what was a sick cat (like my Siamese that died of cancer in June) would be just plain depressing.

You bet I would, 2 years my dog has been dead and I cry over him at least once a month. I wish I had him to hold.
...but I did have him cremated, I have some of his ashes in a vial on my key chain...when I miss him I rub the vial and give him a kiss.

I care about my family more than i care about my pets. So (NO) i would not freeze dry my family members if they died . So deffinitly not my pets either which are less important.
Memories are your connection to those gone
A corpse is not . a corpse is an object not a best friend or pet .

NEVER! I just don't think it's nice to keep a dead thing in your home.
