I was Christened Episcopalian, raised Methodist and Baptist, went to Catholic Mass, studied with the Jehovah Witnesses, spent a year with the Mormons, observed Pentacostal activites and chanted with the Buddhists...they all have the same basic concepts...to love their God as they know him and to love man...then they kill one another over doctrinal differences. So far in my experience the Seventh-day Adventists are the closest to following scripture and Bible prophecy than any other group and have helped me to see that the most important thing is not works, wealth or any other thing but a close and loving relationship with the King of the Universe. I have learned the depth of forgiveness, joy, love and peace that comes from a personal relationship with Him. There are good loving people in all groups and the Bible says God winks (or overlooks) what they don't know. It is up to each one to search the depth of their hearts and to know for themselves their belief and not base their faith on the faith of others. Mmm

Krsna Consciousness. One cannot be persuaded to believe, just by argument.

I was atheistic before reading Bhagavad Gita As It Is. No one could persuade me, because I could always find contradictions in various scripture. I also could not find the answers I was seeking, because there were no qualified persons with the truth. In order to learn the truth, one has to inquire submissively. That means I had to give up all of my preconceived notions about God and the nature of the soul. Once I did that, I was able to hear the teachings with an open mind, and I finally received the answers I had been asking for so long.

All I can do is recommend Krsna Consciousness.

Atheism, if you look at it closely all organized religons are a bunch of crap based on out dated concepts. The Bible itself was for the most part written way after things actually happened, and it's not exactly like someone videotaped the whole thing. I'm not saying that the theory of evolution is fool proof, but at least we have some kind of evidence, where is the evidence of God?......there is none, which the church conveniently sidesteps by leaning back on "faith", and since it's impossible to argue with someone whose already made up their mind all the proof in the world won't do any good. I can't wait until we discover extra terrestial life...heh heh i can see their faces now. The whole basis of theology places humans as the only form of intelligent life and the Earth as the only place that biological life exists. Perhaps then they'll have to conceed a point to science........sorry i think i rambled off a little bit but hopefully you get the point i was trying to make.

I am a by-the-book Roman Catholic living in California.
Why am I RC? I do not know - I have been comfortable for over 30 years being RC and enjoy the communities I have seen and been a part of through the years. I said mass while at sea, and met quite a few interesting people.
I am very happy.
Persuade you?
I can't think how to prove I am telling the truth, I am not in sales, I usually tell the truth - shoot sorry I can't figure out how to tell a lie from the truth from a stranger.
I know you know you will not have the same religious life I have had, so I hope you are happy in your religious life. Peace.

Gnosticism. I believe that the search for wisdom in knowledge is joy in itself. I try to learn everything about every religion and seek the truth in the knowledge I find. I have complete freedom from beliefs that hold back the mind from wisdom and I can seek my answers from anywhere. I live by the simplest of rules and follow the laws of nature.

There's no logic in me persuading you to believe as I do, though I am Tibetan Buddhist (Gelug lineage). What is logical is that if you're truly interested in what I believe, you will research for yourself and if you understand what you find you can accept it or not. Not everyone is suited to practice another person's faith, religion or philosophy just because I, or they, think you should. Different people have different levels of wisdom, knowledge, understanding and so on... so what works for me might not work for you.

I consider myself spiritual. I think every religion is somewhat the same. At the end of the day, we all search for love and understanding. Follow your heart, as long as you believe in something that helps you find inner peace, do what makes you feel right. Just be open and remember that life is a journey.

Unitarian Universalist

I believe that there could be a higher power, but not with a name.

I believe all people are inherently good, and that using our brains to figure out ourselves is what life is all about.

No creed. Thomas Jefferson was a UU.

I am a Christian, and before you jump to any conclusions hear me out. A lot of people think of Christianity as just a bunch of things you can and can't do...and a lot of people think that Christians think they are perfect. But not true!! Christianity is a relationship, not a religion!! It is as relationship with God, who loves us unconditionally!! It isn't about following strict rules you have to live by, its about living for a God who loves you and cares for you!! And Christians are just like anyone else...they do bad things and need forgiveness.
