As long as they do not card you should be fine. Most bars let you in as long as you are not drinking or look suspicious. They usually don't card for sodas and just don't sit right at the bar and you should be ok. If anything see if there is a restaurant part connected where they might let you sit and wait for your parents. I know one bar let me do that for my friends when I was underage and I was the driver. Have your parents check out the scene first. There also might be some bars in the area that allow you in at 18 and just have to be 21 to drink. Try that.

I am not sure about PA although I have lived there. But most places I have been an underage child has been allowed in with their parents. Not with a friend, only in the company of their parents. My ex and I have taken our son out with us to see rock bands as he was interested in forming one. We had no problem in most places. Just call ahead to be sure! How nice of you to want to do this for your parents. It just might save some problems if they are going to drink and drive.

I am 20 and i just tried going to the bar to get something to eat with my friend and they wouldnt let me in. As long as it's before 9 pm you should be alright...but after 9 there's no way you're getting in. The law states that after 9 pm no minors are allowed in a bar, and in pa they enforce it.

Probably, they just won't serve you liquor. But then it depends on the bar, where I live (Chicago) some bars have signs that say you have to be 21 to even enter the bar. But if it's like a bar in a hotel or something, you can sit there but you can't order any liquor

If it's a place that doesn't card at the door, then you're probably fine. Just order soda and say you're the DD. Heck you might even get the sodas free.
I think what you're doing is very cool.

Depends what type of bar........something like Chilis, TGIFs,Applebees will let you sit at booths in the bar area. Our local corner bars only let 21+ in.

no u are underage....drinking or not....but i would just make plans to pick them up at a certain time.....since you are the designated driver
