I live in the country and have to drive on rough roads every day. The cars that are the most fuel efficient will break into little pieces after about a week on those roads. I cannot find any reviews to help me find a rugged vehicle that gets good mileage.

Toyota 4runner. new or old.

barley have to ripp er' into 4wheel, and when you put those babys on a lift kit and a nice suspension kit , you got a damn hot ride lol .
they are awsome on gas.
i dont know about the new ones but they shouldnt be too bad.
Cheap and reliable.
I could go on and on but all you need to know is to grab a 4runner while there are still some up for sale .
Oh yeh p.s.,----> DONT GET A FORD , man those will make you look like a fool. burns lots of gas , and gets stuck ALOT cuz of their radiculous weight. ahah.

Sounds like you are in need of a Jeep Wrangler, i would recommend a YJ model, which is from 1987-1995. They come with a choice of two engines, a 2.5L or a 4.0L. I drive a 4.0L 5 speed and average 18-23 mpg. Oh, and they are great off road.

Jeeps (aside from the new compass) are trail rated. Try a liberty or something like that.

If you dont like Jeeps, consider a crossover SUV (aka CUV)instead of a passenger car.
