And would the thousands of people who worked there still be alive?
Would the people who died in the Holocaust have lived long and happy lives?
Would those who died in the London Tube Bombings still be with their families right now?
Would people of all sexualities be able to walk the streets safely?
Would women have the right to wear what they want and go where they want, anywhere in the world?
Would billions of dollars be available to give to third world countries (instead of going to churches)?
Would millions of hours of time be better spent being productive instead of attending church and praying?
Would lives be saved by medicine instead of people choosing to pray instead?
Would babies be saved from death by being given blood transfusions that they would otherwise be denied?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you agree that ATHEISM IS THE ONLY WAY OUR WORLD WILL BECOME PEACEFUL.

No, the Twin Towers fell because of money.
No, the holocaust wasn't about religion, is was about money.
Sexuality has nothing to do with religion, it's been around too long (sexuality I mean).
Women wear "covering" in certain places because of the culture they live in, not their religion.
Billions of dollars are spent on fancy airplanes, boats and cars for the very rich and the politicians. That's not religion. That's greed.
Praying in churches being replaced by what? Dicking around on the internet?
Millions are saved by medicine and blood transfusions already. Why would prayer stop that unless you are a Christian Scientist?

I am not a Christian, but please, you've gotta have a better argument than this for Atheism. You sound like a fundy.

-No.
-No. Hitler and his backers would have had no trouble doing exactly the same thing, with or without religion.
-No - see question 1.
-No. Religion is an excuse, but the problem is psychological.
-No. Men will oppress women with or without religion.

Oh yeah, because Stalin was SO peaceful, and China is the epitome of respect for human rights.

In my opinion, the world would not have been a better place. People would still hate other because of the way they dress, looked, or how much money they made. Like 911, The Middle Eastern would hate us because we were a rcih country. Hilter would have blamed a group of people for being different, or not have the sames view has him, and people would still die to misdiagnose and malpractice. So in my opinion people are no better off with or without an religion group

if the whole world was atheist, the towers would never have been built and civilization would have self-destructed long ago. As proof I offer up the nearly 200 million souls murdered by atheistic regimes in the 20th century. Atheism doesn't bring peace...it is a formula for destruction.

How do you figure? Have you ever met a truly honest man? Have you ever met a man who will regardless of his own feelings always do the right thing? Mankind is filled with hate and selfishness. Not believing in anything is not going to improve matters. And...yes, I know that many horrible things have been done in the name of Christianity as well. We're not proud of it. If the whole world were faithful Christians, none of those things you mentioned would have happened either.

Yes to all.

And the towers would have been either have been upgraded to withstand an impact from a modern plane (just in case of accident), or torn down.

And the Jews wouldn't have been Jews, they would have been recognized for what they were...citizens of Germany.

And the London Tube would be safe, if a bit obsolete, because who knows what kind of transportation there'd be?

And people of all sexualities would be safe from gay-bashing AND AIDS because nobody would be telling them not to use condoms, and nobody would be holding back advances in medical science.

And women would not only be free, but would be happier and more fulfilled.

The world wouldn't just be a peaceful place, it would be a BETTER place.

If the world followed God instead of men, false prophets and made up religions, then the Towers would still be standing, thousands would not have died, etc. and the world would be peaceful.

May God Bless you.

Hey I love questions with built in answers!! The world would still be violent without religion since people are still selfish, powerhungry, self aggrandizing sinners. Wait, since in this hypothetical there is no religion I geuss we would have to call them something besides sinners. How about....bad thing doers?

P.S. The nazis were NOT Christians as you seem to believe. Hitler hated Christianity and called it a vile, destructive lie. Funny coming from him.

Eh, maybe not.

I think a lot of people use their religion to mask and justify their prejudices. I'm not sure that wiping out religion would cure that. They might just find other 'reasons' for acting in an atrocious manner.

i agree, except for the fact that atheism isn't going to bring about world peace. Once religon was removed as the reason for killing and violence humans would probably just find a different one.
