NASCAR races the mid-size sedan versions that belong to each manufacturer: Chevy races the Monte Carlo, Ford races the Fusion, Toyota races the Camry, and Dodge races the Charger. When Pontiac bowed out of the program a few years ago, they were racing the Grand Prix.

For the "Car of Tomorrow" they'll start racing in a month or so, Chevy is using the Impala and Dodge is using the Avenger. Don't know what the other two are using, if anything different.

In the past, Ford has raced the Taurus and the Thunderbird and Chevy has raced the Lumina.

It would not matter , the cars on the track have nothing to do with a street car like they did in the 60's when racing was cool . Got to love the mustangs though!
