does anybody know why technique isnt as big as someone like young dro who has no talent
but is still as big as ever it dosent make sence
if you rap about a dance move you make millions
you rap about the gov then lots of people will never
here about you i just dont get it

because he has chosen to remain an underground rapper rather than be controlled by a record label meaning he doesnt get the promotion and production that other artists get.

Dude, did you see that thing on PBS Tuesday night on Independent Lens? It was all about the issues with black masculinity, and it had Chuck D. and Jadakiss and Mos Def and Busta Rhymes, a whole buncha guys talking about the expectations for black men, like the violence against women, homophobia, homoerotic videos, beefs, all that stuff (was it called Beef? I didn't see the title.)

Anyway, look on the Independent Lens section of PBS. That doc was AWESOME. One of the things they complained about was that you can't make political rap if you wanna get a record deal--you're trapped into doing gangsta stuff or rapping about money and ho's and stuff like that to get big sales. And most of the rap is bought by young white men! These rappers are forced to put out stereotypes about themselves for white people to buy, just because that's what sells.

It's a mess. They perpetuate stereotypes while they hate them. But how else do you succeed? It's a mean world.

u just answered your own question he isn't on tv all the time like other rappers because of what he raps about, most famous rappers don't care about **** other than their rims and bitches and that's the way the government want to keep us, worried about rims and bitches instead of keeping our eye on them, so that's the music they sell to us, Immortal technique is more about the message than about the money, as long as people don't stop being so lazy and don't stop idolizing ignorance the real talent and true artist will keep on being ignored
