Look at the type of meat that is in your dog food and cook that with whole grain rice or bread and some broccoli and carrots. For example, if it is chicken and rice, grill and chop some chicken (keep it relatively bland) and boil brown rice with chopped broccoli and carrots (my dogs prefer boiled in a mix of chicken broth and water). Let it cool off, and then serve. And -- to whoever suggested you are a bad owner -- we have all been there where you didn't realize you were out of food and, at dinner time, the pet store was already closed. Avoid buying cheap dog food at the grocery store. Give him a healthy dinner and go to the pet store in the morning.
