A wife can dress up for her husband as often as she likes, each night, once a week, whenever the mood takes her....sexy underwear and outfits are a womans choice, and yes it makes you feel a whole lot sexier...
A man can wear a smile, a smooth chest.... a silky thong if the mood takes him... and chocolate body paint...

How often depends on how both of you feel you want to. In that first romantic rush, probably the more the better but that's because it's fresh and you're still both "discovering" each other. Once the novelty wears off, it becomes a bit less of a surprise unless it really IS a surprise (if that makes sense)!
A surprise is really when least expected so maybe when you're both really tired, or after a hard day's work or when one of you is a bit low about something but the other makes the effort to lift the mood. NEVER when either of you is feeling ill!
What a man can wear that would be sexy again depends on how well you know your wife! I know to me it doesn't really matter so much what you wear but what you do! And how you set the mood. Romance beforehand but without it feeling like there should be a pay off, letting her know you want her but without any pressure if she doesn't feel the same, just doing something nice for her that will please her without it ultimately ending in sex.....is very sexy! Like run a hot bath for her with nice oils and/or candles....give her a foot massage, wash her hair gently, serve her a nice meal (even a takeout)....play her favourite music, put flower petals under the quilt so when you go to bed and throw the quilt back she can see them all.....have candles in the bath/bedroom etc.......by then, who cares what you're wearing in bed?! Although nice silk boxers would be a bonus to me!
A woman can do the same for her husband in reverse, ie fav food, let him watch footie whilst massaging his feet, even just wearing a dressing gown with nothing underneath......
I'm suggesting romantic type things here but if you're that far removed from each other that you want hard core turn ons, then get yourselves a subscription to an adult tv channel....which will also become very boring and unsurprising after the first few times!

A wife should dress up as often as she feels comfortable doing so. I would do it every night that I wasnt too tired, personally.
A man looks sexy with boxers on (Not silk ones, thats just tacky, lol) and a nice chest. As long as you are well groomed and have good hygeine and smell good, thats sexy! (So no holey boxers, lol)

i don't think theres a lot a man can wear to look sexy in bed, leave that up to the wife....I agree with another answerer, DONT do the thong thing...it'll will have the opposite effect your looking for! lol

reallyspeaking a wife shouldn't have to dress up in the bedroom but hey that different strokes for different blokes so to say and when it comes to men dressing up well if it were me there would be nothing but hoots of laughter on both sides of the bed that the mood would be lost lol

My wife dresses sexy in bed nightly she just feel better that way and as for me she like me to mear silky boxers she bought me 2 different pairs. so that is what I wear

Only if your Mrs - has a few wee stretch marks - otherwise her body should be what you want not the Knickers & Sussies... How about for the guys - a nice pair of Cotton Marks & Sparks checkered Jim Jams..that should get the womens juices flowing..

I wear sexy undies for my hubby most nights!
Admittedly, sometimes all I do is get on my comfy PJ's but I love making an effort for him - and it makes me feel sexy as hell too!
