I seen 2 questions answered on this site with the wrong information.First, someone asked if the new 2007 Jeep Wrangler had a frame or was unibody. They answered it was a unibody, well I work at on the Jeep Wrangler assembly line and I can tell you it has a frame. Also someone said that all Dodge Ram trucks were made in Mexico, wrong. They are made in Mexico,St Louis and Warren,Mich. So if you don't know what you are talking about why answer these questions?

I think it's the point system. I just answered a question about a 1999 Blazer for a repair I just did. Someone wanted to know where the fuel pump relay was .I had the 1999 GM service manual for the 1999 Blazer right in front of me when I answered it also. Not a Haynes or a Chiltons but the real GM manual.Someone posted a wrong answer and he ended up getting 'best answer'. I couldn't believe it. But I guess it's more important to some people to get a few points than give a correct answer. This seems to happen quite often so I no longer try to help many people even though I have the skill and the service info because you waste your time trying to type a detailed answer and you get blown off for some Bozo idiot. If you want good answers, go to the car forums and forget about Yahoo Answers because there are too many Yahoos here. As for the person who said they are just trying to help (the one who wanted to know what your problem was), you are not helping. Wrong answers can cost people MONEY !!!!

Terry H. Very good question. My answer would be that they are just looking for the points. We can get some good laughs from just reading some of the answers to these questions. I'll admit, there are some clueless people out there, but you gotta give them credit for being a (I cannot believe that I am going to say this) Know-it-all. There are some self-proclaimed mechanics on here that I would not allow to even check the air in my tires, let alone rebuild my engines. I have been working on my own, (and sometimes others) vehicles for 30 years now. Not too bad considering that I started on working on the farm tractors since I was 10 years old. So Terry, sit back and enjoy the laughs generated by the responses. It is cheap entertainment. I do hate to see the wrong information given, but there is nothing that we can do about it.

Terry:
I'm a retired mechanical engineer and I constantly run into people who think they know everything. I've had a Corvette for many years and have collected a lot of information on them. I get people telling me that GM made a certain year Corvette special for someone and put a 4 cylinder in it for them. I've had a person say they weld wood with the eberhard rubber erasers refills from a stationary store, people tell me the only fuel you can use in a piston engine is gasoline or diesel, you can alloy steel and plastic and many other stupid stories. I quit arguing and walk off. If you argue with a fool, he's doing the same thing.

Boredom, I guess. That's MY answer.

AND, maybe the fact that I've been building, destroying, tuning, fixing, selling, buying, maintaining, and loving my cars for 50 years.

At age 16, I thought I knew a LOT more than I actually DID know. Now, I know EVERYTHING! (kidding)

I don't know EVERYTHING, but sure have learned a few things the HARD way over the years.

You wanna know what is worse than that???????????
When the retard behind the parts counter argues with you, telling you that the part that you brought in did not come off of your car because his computer says so. Or when they give you a wrong part and tell you it is the right one when you take it back. Or how about when they try telling you what you should do or how to fix your car. I have litterally thrown stuff at them for it. Stupid know it alls.

Report them for point gaming.

I found a couple guys that were asking, answering each others questions and some of the answers were lame. I reported them and two days later their postings were gone. YEEHAW! Those are the ones who DESERVE to be booted.
I have even mailed people who gave lame answers and set them straight by listing a site to back me up. One of them wrote back, "Mind your own buziness azzhole"

So I followed his postings for a few days and caught him points gaming too. Bye Bye!!!!

Don't take crap, throw it back at them......

I answer questions for fun and sometimes I am able to help someone.

You see many bad answers and some very strange questions.
But that is all part of the answers. Lighten up a little.

I agree, I've also seen a lot of smart allec comments also, and I think its a waste of the person's time that is asking the question.
