certainly, volunteer yourself in an insane asylum.
acctually, to tell you the truth, you'll always have it. you can't give it all away.

that is a good questions, i do not know why the previous answers i saw thought it was not.. the best thing i can come up with is that maybe you can not choose to not have free will because free will is not something that can be chosen to have or not to have, you can not choose to walk through walls, you can not choose to be something you are not, you can not choose to do the impossible... but i am not entirely sure of course.. i am sure you can find good discussions on this somewhere on the web, but i dont think philosophers even agree if we have free will in the first place, but questions are always good, and i liked that one, it seems to be a paradox

You can choose not to have free will, but the choice will be immediately made for you to have free will again, and since you don't have free will at that time you can do nothing about it. So you can make the choice, but you can't win.

It is impossible to not have a free will by willing yourself not to have one. By doing so you are exercising your free will to eliminate itself. Either way your free will wins and you are CHOOSING to either accept or reject it, but it doesn't make it any less real. Free will is not a choice, the fact that you have one is why you are able to think rationally and not just follow somebody else's ideas like a mindless robot. Who would want that anyways?

even though it may seem a contradiction i say no and here is why. We have free will and it is an unconscious thing because even if you tried not to have free will trying itself is free will. It is kind of like breathing we don't think about it and we cant shut it off with out thinking about it. We can hold our breath and try to get out of the cycle but eventually we will just pass out and start breathing again

no if you have free will u just have free will u can't choose to not have free will because that would be choosing something and to choose would mean that you have free will. not having free will means u don't have a choice.

if you don't have free will, you are "controlled" by God (and I'm sure that our human nature will rebel against that--which is free will)

Free will was given to humans so we can have the freedom we need. Your choice not to "have free will" is free will because you're CHOOSING, rather than being forced to not have free will.
Do you see the difference?

Example would be if I told you to drive my car, you do it (you chose to accept request and drive the car) or if you don't do it (you still choose to deny request and not drive the car)

either way, you choose so you cannot "CHOOSE to not have free will"

hope that answers it

Free will means you have the ability to choose that which is available to you. Choosing not to have free will is not available to you..so you can't choose it.

Just like choosing to be an elephant wouldn't be available to you either...

First, you don't have free will. If you have free will, than you can have uncaused thoughts which there is no evidence for. Perhaps if you ceased having uncaused thoughts you could do that, but the question is moot.
