Some born-again teenagers that stalk me trying to convert me told me that it's wrong in God's eyes to vote for a Democrat. What do you think?

I wonder what they consider "christian" issues. Probably abortion, stem cell research, gay marriage. But they ignore things like the war, poverty, health care, all things that supposedly Jesus spoke to. If you read the Bible, the one group of people that Jesus said would get into heaven were the ones that treated the unfortunate well (What so ever you do to the least of my brethern, that you do unto me)

Ok, I am an atheist, but I can see that christians in America pick and chose what suits them politically.

Hang on... The last Presidential election was a near-run thing. And with better than 75% of Americans claiming a Christian identity, that means something like 25% of them voted for "the other side" by said teenager's "thinking"
(for want of a better term).

So they are prepared to write off, (excommunicate?) about one third of their number just like that?

Hmm.

I've heard the same nonsense, too. But they also won't vote for Romney (a Mormon), and some of the born-agains said they would not vote for Pat Robertson under any circumstance -- so who do they like if they balk at conservatives AND liberals?

Maybe wrongheaded, but not wrong, outright. A lot of Democrats are Christians, although, misguided ones.

Note to gorgeoust: Thanx for comfirming that the majority of the people that vote are Christians.

I think it's wrong in God's eyes to vote for candidates that discriminate against Gays, cut social programs for the needy, and use lie centered advertising like the firm that Mcain hired that was responsible for the Swift Boat nonsense.

First, it is wrong to determine what God thinks is right or wrong. On the deomcrat, it depends on his views. If you are supporting someone who is godly, go ahead. If that person does and says things that are sinful and wrong, you probably shouldn't support them. That applies to both parties and all candidates.

I think it doesn't matter. Does it say in the bible htat you can't vote democratic. No it doesn't. You should vote who you want to vote for. God doesn't care witch is why he rocks!

I think each candidate should be considered for what they stand for, not what party line they claim.
It's downright silly to say "I'll only vote for a Republican" without caring what that person actually stands for.
