If you had a paid tax preparer for last year, they should have access to a copy (and if they do, the return is legally yours and they cannot refuse to give it to you).
If you can't contact the preparer, prepared your own return, or filed online, you can contact the IRS directly to request either a complete copy or a transcript. If you only need to know your AGI for e-filing your 2006 return, you can call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040; follow the phone prompts, and they'll verify your identity and can provide you with your 2005 AGI.
If you need the full details, a complete copy can be requested using Form 4506 and costs $39; bear in mind that this can take up to 60 days. If you don't need an exact copy of your return (figures only), transcripts can be obtained for free using Form 4506-T; they only take about two weeks.
